The College of Nursing at King Saud University is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's first nursing college to offer a bachelor's degree in nursing sciences. In 1976, the university established the CON as a college. However, in 1977, the College of Nursing changed its name to the Department of Nursing within the College of Medical Sciences. The Department of Nursing launched the first master's program in nursing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1988, with four major nursing specializations: nursing administration, maternity and pediatric health nursing, medical and surgical nursing, and community health nursing.
