Bachelor of Science in Midwifery Program

The Bachelor of Science in Midwifery program aims to prepare highly qualified professionals in the field of midwifery to meet the diverse health needs of women. The program focuses on equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to provide healthcare to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, while promoting reproductive health and general women’s healthcare. Core skills and competencies are developed in alignment with both national and international standards in midwifery.

The program includes a variety of theoretical and practical courses. Students learn about the fundamental concepts of care for pregnant women, acquire skills in managing and monitoring normal childbirth, and develop the ability to handle emergencies and potential complications during pregnancy and labor.

Additionally, the program provides training in communication and counseling skills for women and their families during pregnancy and childbirth. It emphasizes ethical and legal concepts related to midwifery practice, including patient rights, medical ethics, and legal issues associated with healthcare. Upon successful completion and graduation, students are eligible for classification as a Midwifery Specialist, enabling them to work in maternity hospitals, healthcare centers, communities, and other healthcare institutions that provide services for women and pregnant patients.

Admission Requirements

  • Compliance with King Saud University’s admission regulations.
  • Possession of a General Secondary Education Certificate or its equivalent from inside or outside the Kingdom.
  • Fulfillment of the college’s admission criteria during the admission period, which include:
    • High school cumulative GPA weight: 30%
    • General Aptitude Test weight: 30%
    • Achievement Test weight: 40%
