The Labs and Simulation Unit

 

The Labs and Simulation Unit in the College of Nursing in King Saud University aims to provide a safe learning environment, to enhance the student clinical competence, increase self-confidence, and encourage teamwork and professional collaboration between students and faculty. Students who enter either Nursing or Midwifery profession can find a process of transferring the science learned in the classroom to clinical practice through practicing the required competencies. Labs and Simulation Unit is considered as part of the teaching curriculum strategy at undergraduate and postgraduate levels that the College of Nursing provides and includes a group of students based on a practice-based educational interaction that the College provides. Labs and Simulation Unit is located on both male and female campuses. In the male campus, the unit located on the ground floor which involves seven labs in the College of Nursing building. In the female campus, the unit is located on the 1st and 2nd floor in the College of Nursing building which involves a total of 25 labs is made for the students to develop their clinical decision-making skills in a controlled, life-like environment under the faculty guidance. All the facility made to look real and to help the students get in the sense of the healthcare services setting.
