Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at the College of Nursing, King Saud University, is the first program to award a nursing bachelor’s degree in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It began alongside the establishment of the college in 1976. The program’s curriculum received national accreditation (2022–2027) and is currently under review for international accreditation.

Program Duration

The program extends over four years on a semester-based system, comprising eight levels, in addition to a one-year internship program.

Program Structure

The curriculum includes 40 courses (133 credit hours) covering:

  • 11 foundation courses as university requirements (English language and basic sciences).
  • 3 general college requirement courses (Islamic studies).
  • 26 specialized program requirement courses (nursing fundamentals, health-related courses, and advanced specialty nursing courses).

Internship Program

The internship program in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a comprehensive and structured component that provides students with multiple training opportunities in carefully selected sites to achieve the program’s objectives.

Bridging Opportunities

Additionally, the College of Nursing offers diploma holders in nursing the opportunity to complete a master’s degree through the bridging program, subject to the university’s stated conditions and regulations.
